Say the point before the scenery

Readers and listeners are generous for about one sentence. If that sentence is atmosphere, they start guessing your purpose, and they often guess wrong.

Lead with the claim. Then give the reason. Then, if needed, the story that makes the reason memorable.

This is not bluntness for its own sake. It is respect. People can handle a clear sentence. They resent being walked in circles.
